Some dental procedures may seem intimidating. Have you ever felt so fearful of going to the dentist that you ignored a potential dental health issue? Don't feel embarrassed – millions of Americans avoid dental care because of their dental anxiety, so you're in good company. It doesn't have to be this way, though. If your fear is preventing you from being as healthy as possible, we can help you!
Comfort starts with a soothing atmosphere and a team that you can trust. Many of our patients appreciate the fact that CoolBreeze Dentistry is a small, private dental practice. This means that every time you come into the office, you will only be treated by Dr. Kainth. You will also see the same dental hygienist and office staff each time you come in. We believe that this familiarity with our caring staff helps our patients to feel comfortable and at ease in our office.
For our patients who need a little extra help feeling confident getting their dental care, we also offer sedation dentistry.
Sedation dentistry is the practice of administering medication that provides a deep feeling of relaxation while you’re in the dentist’s chair. During conscious sedation, you will be aware of your surroundings; however, the sights, sounds, and feelings of your procedure will be only a distant sensation. You will still have the ability to communicate with Dr. Kainth, which allows us to respond to your needs and concerns during your procedure so that we can help you feel comfortable.
Our team has had special training in sedation techniques. We will closely monitor you during your procedure to ensure your safety. Imagine having your necessary procedure taken care of without feeling any pain or anxiety! In fact, many patients feel like their procedure “flies by.” After the fact, some people have very little memory of their procedure at all.
Though recovery from the sedative is fast, we do require that a friend or family member is present to drive you home after a procedure involving sedation dentistry. Dr. Kainth will provide you with specific aftercare instructions.
A personal consultation with Dr. Kainth can help reveal whether or not sedation dentistry is the right choice in your situation.
Before having sedation dentistry, you will need to provide Dr. Kainth with information about your personal health including any medications you are taking and any health issues that you have or have had in the past. Please come prepared to provide information about your medical history.
Sedation dentistry may be particularly helpful in situations such as oral surgery or tooth extraction. Conscious sedation may even be beneficial in pediatric cases. At CoolBreeze Dentistry, we treat children ages 8 years and older. If your child experiences anxiety over going to the dentist, ask Dr. Kainth about sedation possibilities.
If fear has kept you away from the dentist, you don’t have to worry any longer. Let us take care of you with sedation dentistry. Our helpful front desk staff will guide you in scheduling your appointment when you call (972) 432-8811.
